Begin with how you live.
The most useful way to look at a home is to imagine an ordinary day. Where would you put down your keys? Which chair would you choose? A room becomes easier to understand when you give it a familiar moment.
Notice the space between things.
Good proportions are not only about size. The distance from a seat to a window, the way a doorway frames another room, and the space around a table can make a home feel quietly generous.
Leave room for your own story.
A home does not need to arrive fully imagined. A few details that speak to you, and the freedom to make others your own, are often a better starting point than a room with every answer.
