The space between inside and out.
The best room in a house might be the one without a roof.

A courtyard is a small piece of the outdoors with a place at the heart of the home. It changes the way light moves through a room, gives the eye somewhere to rest and makes the seasons part of everyday life.
We notice the spaces between spaces: a deep threshold, a sheltered terrace, a window seat facing a tree. They often tell us more about how a home will feel than a room count ever could.
When you visit a home, pause at its edges. Open the doors. Notice where you would take a coffee or spend the last hour of the afternoon. A thoughtful connection to the outside is something you live with every day.
FOR A LIFE WELL LIVED.
